The tour of the Sacred Valley is located northeast from Cusco between the towns of, Pisaq, Urubamba, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero. This valley has very special qualities to the Incan culture, both climatic and geographical. The Incas or Quechuas transformed the sacred valley into one of the top agricultural production centres due to its rich lands. The difference between Cusco and Peru, and the Sacred Valley, is that the Sacred Valley is one of the richest because of its mass production of the best grain of corn. It has a unique historical wealth and is also home to three of the most important typical handcraft markets of Cusco: Pisaq, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero.
Our Agency “Machu Picchu Perú Tours”, will pick you up from your place of staying at 8:00 am, to start our Sacred Valley with Machu Picchu tour, on this tour you will be able to apreciase different types of colourful villages, you will be also visiting some places like Q’orao where you will appreciate textile art and ceramics, and Taray that will act as a viewpoint of the Sacred Valley, then we will continue our trip to the following places:
PISAC: A typical Andean town — an artisan and archeological town where famous craft fairs are held. We will visit the fairs, typical markets and the archeological remains. Lunch will take place at a tourist restaurant in Urubamba.
OLLANTAYTAMBO: An agricultural, administrative, social, religious, and military center from the Tahuantinsuyo times, conformed by temples and andenes, and joined by a complete system of irrigation channels. After our visit to the Sacred Valley we will head to the train station in Ollantaytambo where we will board a train to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu. Once we get to Machu Picchu Pueblo our transport will transfer you to your respective hotel.
This trip offers you a visit to the most important archeological site of South America, Machu Picchu, where you will feel yourself with the energy of this magical place. Includes breakfast at the hotel, and the bus ride to the top of Machu Picchu. We will enjoy a guided tour by the agricultural areas, urban areas, military areas, craft industry, the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Condor, and Temple of the Sun. The lunch we will have at Aguas Calientes is also included. After lunch we will hop on a train to Ollantaytambo where our bus will be waiting for us to get back to Cusco.
