This new route of the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu also known as the “alternative Inca Trail” is located north of the city of Cusco. On this trail of Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu we will reach a maximum height go 4650 meters above sea level. Due to the restrictions and limitations imposed by the National Institute of Culture who is in charge of giving the authorizations to the Inca Trail, it has become increasingly difficult to book. Once reservations reach the limit of 500 people per day, no more requests are accepted for those dates, so many people are left without a space in the Trek. This is one of the reasons why we offer the hike of Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu as an alternative Inca Trail. The Salkantay Trek route to Machu Picchu counts with the same beautiful scenery and is also less crowded than the first one. which increases its beauty. This Trek lasts 4 days, the first 3 are hiking days and you camp out for 2. On the third day the journey is completed with bus ride then a walk to Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu is done to reach the town of Aguas Calientes. Finally the fourth day we will visit the Inca city of Machu Picchu and in the afternoon we will take the train to Ollantaytambo, from where we will hop on a bus back to Cusco.
