Colca Canyon 3 Day Trek

Day 1: Colca Trek 3 Days.

3:00 hrs. Pick Up from hotel.

We will pick you up from your accommodation as long as it is in the center of the city. Or else at the meeting point: Plaza de Armas

Then we will go to Chivay to have breakfast and visit the Cruz del Cóndor (Condor Cross), there you can tour the place, see the flight of the condors

San Miguel

We will continue to San Miguel to start the walk as such. We will start with the descent through the canyon, where you will be able to observe the views of the flora and fauna and the impressive views.

After 3 hours, we will cross the bridge to go to the community of San Juan de Chuccho where we will have lunch and learn more about the populations and families that live in the Colca Canyon.

Day 2: Oasis de Sangalle.

We will have breakfast and rest to start our day two walking 3 hours, passing through the towns of Cosñirhua and Malata until we reach the Sangalle Oasis, here you will find heated pools, which you can use (optional) or rest and enjoy nature.

Day 3: Cabanaconde – Chivay – Arequipa.

We will start the walk very early, to start climbing for a period of 3 to 4 hours, until we reach the highest part of the canyon.

As the trekking is done, you will be able to observe the sunrise in the Canyon. Then when you reach the highest part, you can rest and then walk to Cabanaconde to have breakfast and end the walk.

Transport will be taken to the Antahuilque viewpoints where you can see the cultivation terraces and thermal baths, before returning to Chivay for lunch.

After arriving in Chivay for lunch, we will return to Arequipa, but not before stopping at the Mirador de Volcanes (Volcanoes Viewpoint) which is located at 4190 m.a.s.l.

18:oo hrs. Return to Arequipa and end of our Colca Trek Arequipa.

Yes, there is also the 2-day Trek, which is shorter and for people who don’t have much time. The difference is that on the first day of the trek you reach the Sangalle Oasis the first day. The final day on both treks is the same.

It’s recommended to travel between April and November to avoid the rains and also because the weather tends to be more temperate, especially if you want to go to the beaches.

But also, August is the best month to travel to Arequipa, since the 15th is the anniversary of the city, making various events, parades, dances, fairs and other traditions take place.

Due to the semi-arid and temperate climate that Arequipa has, it has two types of seasons: humid (December to March) and dry (April to November), it’s recommended to travel in the dry season, where should you take:
